Starbucks locations in Colorado are going BYOC – as in “bring your own cup.”The coffee company is currently running a pilot program at 192 locations in the Centennial State where customers can bring their own personal cups that baristas will use to fill their orders.Historically, Starbucks has allowed customers to bring reusable cups with the company’s branding to be filled, but during this test period, it will allow any cup or mug. All you have to do is tell your barista at the counter or in the drive-thru that you brought your own and you save 10 cents on your order. Rewards members receive an additional 25 bonus stars.Related ArticlesRestaurants, Food and Drink | Corvus Coffee leases in RiNo for fifth location Restaurants, Food and Drink | 10 of the best brunch spots in and around Denver The pilot rolled out on April 10 and runs through June 30 and the number of stores makes it Starbucks’ most extensive test to date, according to a spokespers...Man who threatened Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold gets probation

DENVER — A man who called the office of Colorado’s top elections official to say that the “angel of death was coming for her in the name of Jesus Christ” was sentenced to two years of probation Monday.Kirk Wertz, 52, was convicted last week of one count of retaliating against an elected official, a felony, for the June 30, 2022, call to the office of Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold. When a state trooper called Wertz back, he refused to answer whether he planned to harm Griswold, citing the First Amendment, and said, “And I’m an Oath Taker and an Oath Keeper and I owe you no explanation,” according to a court document.During his sentencing hearing, Wertz denied being a member of the Oath Keepers, a far-right extremist group, calling it a “gross accusation” and calling his prosecution “malicious.” He said being an “Oath Taker” was a reference to him registering for possible military service when he turned 18 and the “Oath Keeper” was a reference to keeping an unspecifie...Avalanche Journal: How far can Colorado go without Gabriel Landeskog in Stanley Cup Playoffs?

Gabriel Landeskog’s right knee remains a mystery worthy of Sherlock Holmes, but you’ll have to wait until next season to find out if he cracks the case. The Avalanche captain has officially called it quits for his 2022-23 season that never was, ruling himself out for the Stanley Cup Playoffs while he tries to figure out how to cure the cartilage injury under his patella. Landeskog is still consulting medical experts about next steps to take this offseason, and a fourth surgery since 2020 is an option.Sure sounds like a plight that will bedevil Landeskog and the Avalanche at least into next season, if not longer. Considering the salary cap implications of his $7 million absence, the Avs probably want a quicker resolution about the captain’s 2023-24 fate.“Leading into the draft and free agency, ” general manager Chris MacFarland said, “that will certainly have to be part of our equation, is his situation.”But as for the more immediate obstacle,...Man wanted for assaulting L.A. A fatal shooting by police last week at a Newark hotel was the year’s 10th entry on California’s list of AB 1506 investigations, and an 11th was added on Sunday. The legislation, which took effect in July 2021, requires the state’s Department of Justice to investigate all fatal shootings by law enforcement officers in which the person killed is apparently unarmed. There are now 40 incidents on the list, with nine from the last half of 2021 and 20 from 2022. Final reports have been issued for only two, both determining that no criminal charges against the officers were warranted.Besides the Newark case, the list has three from the Bay Area: a man shot by Antioch police in 2021 after a standoff at his house; a man shot in 2022 at San Francisco International Airport; and the fatal shooting by San Francisco police in 2022 of two men who were fighting.AB 1506 investigations so far in 2023:1/ Samuel Arredondo, shot Jan. 11, 2023, by San Bernardino County sheriff’s de...Best Bitcoin Casino Sites: Updated List of the Top Bitcoin Casinos Ranked by BTC Games, Bonuses, and More

When Xander Benitez learned that Blackpink was headlining the Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival this year the decision for him and two friends to travel from their small town near Sarasota, Florida was a simple one.“It’s insane,” Benitez, 21, said. “The first K-pop headliner at Coachella? Hello!”He, Jony Leyva, 21, and Edward Sebastian, 31, were easy to spot on the festival grounds on Saturday, April 15, the first of Blackpink’s two weekends there. Like many fans of the K-pop girl group, they’d taken Blackpink literally when it came picking their outfits for the day.“It’s a phenomenon,” Sebastian said of the emergence in recent years not just of K-Pop artists such as Blackpink and BTS, the latter of which could easily headline Coachella some day, but of Asian artists in general. Blackpink will be back to headline the second weekend of the Coachella on Saturday, April 22 and announced a tour stop at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Aug. 26.Blackpink fans Jenny Zhou, left, and ...Latest news
