Man arrested in connection with Mountain View park fire

MOUNTAIN VIEW – Police on Tuesday arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of setting a Dumpster on fire at Cuesta Park in Mountain View.The blaze was reported around 9:30 p.m., the Mountain View Police Department said in a news release. (KRON) -- Authorities are investigating a hate crime that involved vandalism outside a dive bar in unincorporated Fairfield, the Solano County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) said Wednesday in a Facebook post. Swastikas and racial slurs were found on the walls of Thompson's Corner Saloon on Cordelia Road. Surveillance video obtained by SCSO shows a person of interest in connection to this hate crime. The alleged incident happened on the morning of Aug. 8. Photos of the individual can be viewed in the slideshow below. (KRON) -- Senator Dianne Feinstein was hospitalized after falling in her San Francisco home on Tuesday. “Senator Feinstein briefly went to the hospital yesterday afternoon as a precaution after a minor fall in her home. All of her scans were clear and she returned home," according to a spokesperson for Sen. Feinstein. Feinstein has been struggling with health issues over the last year. She was absent from the Senate for about three months while dealing with shingles, Ramsay Hunt syndrome and encephalitis. Sen. Feinstein missed votes during that time which prompted some lawmakers to call on her to resign, but Sen. A court battle is underway over a former George Washington University building being turned into a shelter for unhoused people with medical conditions.The school sold Aston Hall at 1129 New Hampshire Ave NW last July to the District government for $27.5 million. The city hopes to convert the 10-story structure by the fall.But the GW Hatchet student newspaper reports that a group with property interests in the West End neighborhood filed a suit last month in D.C. DENVER (KDVR) — On Wednesday night, coworkers gathered in a southwest Denver parking lot to pay respects to a man who was gunned down 24 hours earlier. Denver Police say Tuesday night, an individual was shot in the 200 block of South Federal Boulevard. Authorities later said that person succumbed to their injuries. How investigators can tell a gun was used in a crime Sources told FOX31 the victim, a disc jockey who friends identified as Jason Perry, was serving in a security role and had helped to escort the suspect out of the business.
