(KRON) -- A disgraced former police officer who was fired from the San Jose Police Department last year is back behind bars.Ex-SJPD Officer Matthew Dominguez was arrested by his old co-workers on November 17 in connection to a hit-and-run crash. A police department spokesperson told KRON4, "Mr. Dominguez was arrested for allegations of assault with a deadly weapon, hit and run, and failure to yield to a peace officer."Santa Clara County jail inmate records show Dominguez, 33, remained locked in a jail cell as of Tuesday afternoon in lieu of $105,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday. Dominguez was fired from the police department in the summer of 2022 after crime victims came forward with disturbing allegations. A family told SJPD that Dominguez and two other officers went to their home in response to a 911 call for a mentally ill family member. (BCN) -- Contra Costa County has received an 18.6 million grant from the state it will use to build a new mental health rehabilitation center, the county announced Tuesday. Contra Costa Health officials said the new facility will be built on county-owned property at 847 Brookside Drive in Richmond. The facility will serve patients experiencing serious mental illness who need 24-hour residential care, but don't need hospitalization, according to the county. Residents who need that level of care must now travel out of the community -- sometimes across the state -- to find it. (KRON) – The Santa Rosa Police Department arrested the man who brandished weapons at a police helicopter. Santa Rosa officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Courtyard Circle for a report of a possible disturbance inside a residence on Nov. 19 at 7:45 p.m. According to police, the caller told the SRPD dispatcher the person causing the disturbance was intoxicated and gathering several firearms. DENVER (KDVR) — A man who allegedly shot and killed three people and injured another in Custer County, south of Colorado Springs, was arrested Tuesday afternoon.According to the Custer County Sheriff's Office, 45-year-old Hanme K. Clark was taken in to custody by New Mexico State Police. Details about where specifically he was captured and how have not yet been released.At around 2:30 p.m. Monday, a shelter-in-place was issued for the area of Rocky Ridge Road in Westcliffe while police investigated the shooting. The small rural community only has a population of 435 people.According to the Custer County Sheriff's Office, multiple people were shot over what they believe was a dispute between neighbors over easement lines. Food pantries are on a mission to feed hungry South Floridians. Now, one organization is leading the charge to put food on tables for families during the holidays.More than a million people in South Florida will not have enough to eat for Thanksgiving and one in nine don’t know where they will receive their next meal. “Food insecurity here in South Florida is really getting out of control,” said Paco Velez, CEO of Feeding South Florida. Another Miami man was found guilty for his role in the Jan. 6 Insurrection.Gabriel Garcia was convicted of civil disorder and obstruction of an official government proceeding.He’s a former member of the extremist group the Proud Boys and once sat on the Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee.Garcia got into confrontations with police officers during the capitol riots back in 2021 and helped others storm into the building. Authorities are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a warehouse in Tamarac. According to the Broward Sherri’s Office, the shooting occurred at 6501 Nob Hill Road, just before 2 p.m., Tuesday. Upon arrival, deputies quickly took the suspected shooter into custody. 7Skyforce hovered over the scene where employees of the business where the shooting took place left the area. Tamarac Fire Rescue rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. What led up to the shooting is under investigation. The area near the business has since been closed off.
