IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Iowa will be without leading receiver Erick All for the rest of the season because of an injury to his right knee, Hawkeyes coach Kirk Ferentz said Tuesday. All, who was hurt in last week’s 15-6 win at Wisconsin, is the second Iowa tight end to go out with a major injury. Luke Lachey had surgery for a right ankle injury he sustained against Western Michigan on Sept. 16, and Ferentz said it’s doubtful he would return before the end of the regular season. All transferred from Michigan in the offseason and caught 21 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns in seven games. He would be eligible to return for a sixth season in 2024.All was hurt when he caught a short pass and had his knee struck by a Wisconsin defender.“Really unfortunate,” Ferentz said. “He’s done a great job, newcomer to the team, a great addition. Such a positive guy, hardworking, great personality and loves the game. He was certainly adding a lot to our football team. The Prince George’s County Council in Maryland spent several hours Tuesday afternoon hearing from people about cannabis, and then themselves spent 45 minutes discussing a bill that would limit any new dispensaries from opening outside of industrial or light industrial zoned areas of the county. In the end, the council voted down an amendment that would have allowed them to operate in commercially zoned shopping centers. Meanwhile an initial vote imposing new restrictions passed the full council operating as a council committee, setting up a final vote of the council in the coming weeks.Robust debate on the measure ago led the council to postpone action a week ago, and when the discussion began there were dozens of people ready to speak out. Most of those who spoke as private residents complained about marijuana use among county teenagers, and blamed the legalization for a rise in crime, as well as quality of life nuisances connected to the smell of burned marijuana.“Canna...Officials say at least 189 bodies were found decaying at Colorado funeral home, up from about 115 reported earlier

ATLANTA (AP) — Sure, there was that one pitch on baseball’s biggest stage, the one that clipped a little too much of the plate, the one that Jim Poole would’ve loved to have back.Of course, sports rarely offer up the chance for a do-over, so we’re left to ponder that nagging question.Should someone be defined by their worst moment? Not at all, which is why one of Poole’s former teammates and best friends felt compelled to reach out after the longtime big league reliever died from ALS a couple of weeks ago.Paul Assenmacher, who had a long career of his own in the majors, read the obituary I penned for The Associated Press. The lead paragraph noted that Poole was the guy who surrendered David Justice’s homer in Game 6 of the 1995 World Series, which provided the only run in Atlanta’s championship-clinching victory over Cleveland. Assenmacher just wanted everyone to know that Poole was as fine a human being as he’s ever encountered. He even thre...Denver twins fighting in Israel don't have bulletproof vests
