Hey Jaime my name is Lauren and I’m a long-time listener of the show and I have my own dilemma to talk about. My daughter turns 18 next week and I asked her what she wanted for her big day. She told me she wanted a spa day, which included Botox injections and maybe lip filler. I was floored when I heard those words come out of her mouth because she never seemed like the kind of kid that would want such a thing. She told me two of her friends who turned 18 just a few days ago got the same thing and she loves the way their lips look. I didn’t believe her till she showed me pictures. Well now I’m mad at their mothers for allowing such a thing. I told my daughter no way and she’s now not talking to me. Am I the crazy one for not letting my beautiful 18-year-old daughter get lip injections and Botox? I'm looking...Inside look at Spin Revolution's new Saratoga location

Dear Amy: I was the disciplinarian while my children grew up.I freely admit that I crossed the line multiple times in disciplining my son, but I have apologized many times.I try to help each of my children, especially in terms of financial assistance. My son is now 51 and lost his father (my husband) two years ago to COVID.Then his wife was in a terrible auto accident. I took care of her for six months before they moved back to their house (which is adjacent to mine).Three months later she went into a coma and never came out of it.He called me to come while the paramedics worked on her.He asked me to take him to the hospital, where we spent several days before she passed.I helped him with his finances and paid his bills (with his money), and set up a system he could maintain. He has a lot of anger issues. He mostly takes out his anger on me. He talks rudely to me, and only comes to my house when my daughter and son-in-law visit to help with projects around my property.Related ArticlesA...Mergers: Commission authorizes acquisition of Webhelp by Concentrix

The European Commission has approved, under the EU Merger Regulation, the acquisition of Webhelp S.A.S., based in France, by Concentrix Corporation, based in the United States. The transaction mainly concerns IT services in which both companies are active, with emphasis on business process outsourcing (BPO) services, in particular BPO services relating to the management of customer experience (“CXM BPO”). The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on the market and due to the number of competitors active in the markets where the companies are active. The transaction was examined under the normal merger control procedure.Review: Tina Fey brings new spark to Poirot franchise

By Lindsey Bahr | Associated PressKenneth Branagh indulges in the kind of macabre theatricality that only a crumbling Venetian palazzo on a stormy Halloween night can provide in ” A Haunting in Venice. ”Moviegoers probably long ago made up their mind one way or another about Branagh’s stately and flawed Hercule Poirot franchise, but should there be any curiosity left for this third installment is worth it. It is spooky, fun and features Tina Fey, looking smart and sleek in post-war suits as the fast-talking author of wildly successful whodunnits who says things like “I’m the smartest person I know” in a mid-Atlantic accent.Set in 1947 on a particularly foggy night in the city of canals, “A Haunting in Venice” is beautiful to look at, with costumes by Sammy Sheldon, production design by John Paul Kelly and cinematography by Haris Zambarloukos. And it’s embellished with moody but palatable scares that feel reminiscent of classics l...Single family residence in San Ramon sells for $1.8 million

Published Fri, 27 Dec 2024 09:11:36 GMT
Mahmoud Abbas, the usually low-profile president of the Palestinian Authority, was widely condemned around the world this week, including by prominent Palestinian intellectuals, after making antisemitic comments about the Holocaust in a televised speech to his party last month. While Abbas’s words and actions rarely command significant international attention, the incident put a spotlight on his deep unpopularity among Palestinians, some 73 percent of whom want him gone, and their growing disillusionment with the PA.Abbas, whose spokesperson disputed that his remarks were antisemitic, was one of the architects of the Oslo peace process, which commenced with a historic handshake between Yasser Arafat and Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin on the White House lawn 30 years ago this week. Oslo has long been dead to Palestinians, whose hopes in the statehood promised to them under the deal collapsed years ago. Now, faced with the most far-right extremist Israeli government to date, esca...Spain’s Women’s World Cup winners maintain boycott of team hours before new coach picks first squad

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — Spain’s World Cup-winning players are continuing their refusal to play for the women’s national team, the country’s soccer federation said Friday, just hours before new coach Montse Tomé was set to announce her first squad. Tomé will now have to decide whether to still call up the revolting players, or select a completely different team for upcoming Nations League games against Sweden and Switzerland on Sept. 22 and 26. She was set to announce her picks later Friday.Spain’s women have had little chance to celebrate their greatest soccer achievement because Luis Rubiales, the now former president of the federation, caused an uproar when he kissed player Jenni Hermoso on the lips at the awards ceremony in Sydney on Aug. 20.The 23 players, along with dozens of other players, responded to his subsequent refusal to step down in the days after the kiss by announcing that they would not play for their nation again until the federation underwent dee...Latest news
